Management Team

Gary brings extensive knowledge of production management and development. He has spent the past twenty years managing animation and special effects production, pipeline design and asset management for some of the top computer graphics companies. His experience includes work for Alias/Wavefront (Toronto), SquareUSA (Honolulu), Nelvana Productions (Toronto) and C.O.R.E. Feature Animation (Toronto). During that time Gary has directed computer graphics development for feature films such as Final Fantasy, The Spirits Within, Batman2, Animatrix, Erasure and The Wild, as well as multiple TV episodic productions.

Gary holds multiple degrees including an Associate's Degree, Technical Illustration, Sheridan College; a BFA Design Graphics, New York Institute of Technology, New York; and a Master Communication Arts, New York Institute of Technology, New York.




Remko has more than fifteen years of software development experience specifically with digital production pipeline design. He has a deep understanding of how to design and architect workable asset management systems as he has developed many different proprietary systems production studios.

Prior to founding Southpaw Technology, Remko worked with Nelvana Limited and C.O.R.E Feature Animation developing infrastructure and asset management solutions for 350+ production studios.

With extensive international co-production and outsourcing experience for productions production multiple studios Remko understands the complexities of working with multiple teams, in divergent locations.

Remko has a Masters degree in Engineering Physics in the Solid State Physics group from Queen's University.




Bryan is a veteran in the 3D graphics world with a proven track record in building global sales organizations. Bryan has over twenty years of experience in Technical Sales Management and Product Marketing, working with a broad range of clients. He has successfully built sales channels for professional FX and animation tools.

Bryan has a degree in Computer Electronics Engineering from Mohawk College as well as advanced marketing coursework at the University of Toronto.




In his role of Director of Development, Mike brings over 16 years of professional software development experience to the Southpaw development team. His extensive experience includes both the building of in-house software solutions for demanding and highly dynamic production environments (for animated feature film and video game projects), as well as a number of releases of professional, high-end software products for creative users including Alias PowerAnimator and Autodesk Maya 3D animation software.

Mike brings a unique mix of technical and creative skills, with strong UI and streamlined work-flow design to the Southpaw management team.
